California Privacy

Effective July 15, 2026

1. Does the CCPA apply to us?

Probably not. The California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses that exceed revenue or data-volume thresholds we are likely below. We honor its rights for California residents anyway, because they are reasonable things to offer and because you should not have to audit our revenue to know what you can ask for.

2. Information we collect

In the CCPA's categories, over the last 12 months we have collected:

CCPA categoryCollectedExamples
IdentifiersYesUsername, email address, device identifiers, linked account identifiers
Commercial informationYesOrder records, products purchased, discount codes used
Internet or network activityYesAnonymous website analytics aggregates, client diagnostic events, error reports
Geolocation dataCoarse onlyCountry-level location derived at the network edge; the IP address itself is hashed and discarded
Audio, visual, or similar informationNo
Financial informationNoPayment card details stay with the payment processors
Biometric informationNo
Inferences or profilesNoWe build no advertising or behavioral profiles

3. No sale, no sharing

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done either in the last 12 months. Because there is no sale or sharing to opt out of, an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control has nothing to turn off; we simply never do the thing it guards against.

4. Your rights

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and receive a copy.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal retention duties.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Your purchase and your account work the same either way.

5. How to exercise these rights

Email support@mail.opal.wtf from the address on your account, or include enough information for us to verify you are the account holder; we verify requests so nobody else can read or delete your data. We respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if a request needs the additional 45-day extension the law allows.
