1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Opal, the website at https://opal.wtf, and the services connected to them, provided by Opal x Terminus. By creating an account, purchasing access, or using the software, you agree to be bound by these terms and you remain responsible for compliance with your local laws. If you do not agree, do not purchase, install, or use the software.
2. Description of service
Opal is a utility modification for Minecraft: Java Edition that provides gameplay enhancements and additional features. In these terms, "the services" means the Opal client together with its launcher, this website, and the account, licensing, cloud, chat, and support systems behind them.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate information when you register and keep it current. Inaccurate or misleading registration details are grounds for termination.
- Keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so use a strong password and consider enabling two-factor authentication.
- Register one account for one person. Accounts are not transferable and may not be shared, sold, or given away.
- We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being abused.
4. License and usage
- Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Opal for personal, non-commercial use.
- You may not redistribute, sell, rent, lease, or sub-license the software or any part of the services.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, crack, tamper with, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the software.
- You may not leak, mirror, or share builds, license keys, or account access. Doing so may lead to permanent suspension, revocation of your purchases, takedown requests, and blacklisting of your identifiable information and payment credentials across Opal and its affiliated services.
- You may create and share media content, such as videos or livestreams, that features the software, provided the content does not misrepresent the software, reveal unreleased features you were given early access to, or distribute the software itself.
5. Devices and license enforcement
Your license is bound to your hardware to prevent sharing. The software and launcher read a device identifier when you sign in, and access from an unrecognized device may be blocked until you reset the binding from your dashboard. Deliberately circumventing device binding, or passing one license around several people, is a violation of these terms and grounds for termination without refund.
6. Cloud content and community
- The services let you store configurations, profiles, and scripts in your account and, where the feature allows it, share them with other users.
- You keep ownership of content you upload. By sharing content publicly you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it to other users through the services.
- Do not upload or share content you do not have the right to share, and do not upload malicious, unlawful, or infringing content. Our DMCA policy at https://opal.wtf/dmca explains how to report copyright complaints.
- The services include a cross-client chat. Do not harass other users, spam, or post unlawful content. Chat messages and shared content pass through automated moderation, and we may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules.
7. Rewards and creator codes
The services may award virtual credits for participation, such as community contributions or promotions, and may offer creator and coupon codes at checkout. Credits and codes have no cash value, are not transferable or redeemable for money, and may be adjusted, expired, or revoked if we reasonably believe they were obtained through abuse. Promotional programs can change or end at any time.
8. User responsibilities
- Use the software at your own risk and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any service, computer system, or network connected to Opal.
- Do not disable, overburden, damage, or impair the services, and do not interfere with any other party's use of them. Botting, denial-of-service attacks, and simulating human interaction with the services are strictly prohibited.
- Do not use the software to harm others or to engage in malicious activity.
- Respect the rules of any servers you connect to, and understand that using modifications may violate them.
9. Server compatibility and risks
Opal is designed to work across many Minecraft servers, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all of them. Many servers prohibit client modifications, and using Opal may result in account suspension or banning from servers, loss of in-game progress or items, or restricted access to game features. You acknowledge these risks and agree that we are not responsible for any consequences of server enforcement actions.
10. Updates, channels, and support
- Releases ship on multiple channels, such as stable, canary, and nightly, and your license determines which channels you can use.
- We may modify or discontinue features at any time, change the software's functionality through updates, and end support for older versions.
- Early access builds are experimental, may never reach a public release, and may be withdrawn at our discretion.
- Support is provided on a best-effort basis through the dashboard, our support system, and our community channels.
11. Payments
Opal is offered as a one-time purchase with lifetime access. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors for card payments and cryptocurrency; we never see or store your full card details. Prices are subject to change without notice, and creator or coupon codes apply at checkout and have no cash value.
12. Refunds, withdrawal, and disputes
All sales are final, and we do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law. Where you have a statutory right of withdrawal, such as the 14-day right in the EU, you consent at checkout to immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that the right is lost once delivery begins. If something went wrong with your purchase, contact support first. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute instead of contacting support is treated as abuse and results in immediate termination of your license.
13. Privacy
Our privacy policy, available at https://opal.wtf/privacy, explains what data the services collect and why. It is part of the agreement you accept by using the services.
14. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Opal and its licensors own the intellectual property rights for the software and all material on the services. Except as allowed by these terms, you may not republish, reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, rent, or redistribute material from Opal without explicit written permission.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
16. Limitation of liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
17. General terms
- If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
- Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- You may not assign or transfer these terms or your license. We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the services.
- These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the services and supersede any prior agreements.
18. Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, and your continued use of the services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice, for example through the dashboard or by email.
19. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the services immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these terms. Upon termination you must stop using the software and destroy all copies in your possession. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, warranty disclaimers, and liability limits, survive it.
20. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, contact us at support@mail.opal.wtf. For bug reports or technical help, use the support section of your dashboard or our official Discord server.
